This is a really cool concept, and executed with a lot of mechanical depth and delightful animations.
My one suggestion would be to further integrate the tutorial into the game, rather than having everything explained all at once. It's definitely not game breaking the way it is now, but it delays the much more compelling hook when you actually get to make real choices about the cards.
Thank you, once we are closer to the end product I plan revisit the tutorial. Kinda want to make it more as a boss fight, which you cant win because you dont have good cards enough but you get more freedom.
Awesome! Yeah I think limiting the player's options and making the first enemies pretty straightforward is enough to show the player the basic mechanics. The cat's explanations are good, but I do wonder if they can be pared down.
Really solid mechanics though, I can tell there's a lot of depth to them. And they are complex so it makes sense that the tutorial would be a tricky thing to perfect.
This was a very fun idea! I will add that the difficulty may be too easy, or need more variety? I beat the first 10 just barely and did't realize that I would continue. I assumed that I'd take some rewards home and unlock some other stuff, but I continued. After woods level 7, I stopped as everythign seemed that same and it looked like I could grind out continued levels. Maybe make rebirth necessary?
Also, the tutorial made you pause just a bit too long while trying to skip through dialogue.
Small extra space in gain "Ga in +5 MAX STAMINA" below.
But really gorgeous job. The story is cute and fun and the art is complementary. Nicely done.
Really like the idea, it still needs some refinements but i see already the potential. it also seems to work on the browser on my Android tablet, although with a bit of lag, but its ok since i rarely can load games on it, its already surprising everything works. I am going to follow for future updates.
I love this! Fun idea, great gameplay, and interesting characters. One of the best cooking games I've ever played.
I see Grendel is much more handsome than in the original epic lol XD
I haven't played to the end yet, do you have Grendel's Mother as the final boss? Because if so that would be so rad :D (Or in keeping with the pattern of the epic; Grendel, his Mom, and then the dragon)
One teensy tiny thing that would make the game just a liiiittle bit more awesome; Maybe just a bit more characterization frm the princess? Like maybe a snarky comment when she runs into the redcap again, or reactions to how crazy big Grendel is O.o Her interactions with Lady Catherine are great, would love to see more throughout the game (Bluecap is hilarious btw)
Ofc! This is a really awesome game, I'm honestly super impressed that it was just two people behind the scenes! You've come up with a really high quality game, take all the time you need :D
I'm glad to know you appreciated my feedback ^^
EDT: Recent just played it again and tried the quests out. These guys are hilarious, I definitely approve. Especially that one antlered dude, I have often been frustrated with inconsistencies in 'nature loving hunter' archetype. It was nice to see that pointed out :)
I’m glad I got to play this game, it’s really charming, and I love the cravings-and-flavors mechanic. My free time ran out, but I managed to make it to the troll. Keep creating fun and original ideas! That troll is tough, one stomp took 6 stamina from me, and I only had 5 left! T_T
I ran into an issue where it's hard to right-click on a laptop. I would love to have alternate inputs for actions like that, where folks might not be using a mouse.
The tutorial is really polished and this game is very catchy. I'm not usually a fan of card games, but this is really cute.
Thank you, and yes, I know exactly what u mean... I had the same issue. I used the keyboard instead, but I need to check what's wrong with those touch pads
Nice twist on the genre, but the curses so far are kinda lame. It would be better if they did a variety of effects and didn't just shut down a random kind of card from your deck.
Thank you so much for playing and for making video out of it... shame for the buggane death :) It was great to watch you play, it helps us learn what needs to happen next! Thank you for all the feedback
I’ve played a bit and I must say, for a prototype this already seems very polished. The visuals and music are very nice!
Some points of feedback:
pressing esc to cancel a card selection also exits fullscreen. I would prefer if I could click somewhere on the screen, away from yourself or the enemy, to cancel.
After the tutorial, the game became very laggy. I played in browser, maybe if I had downloaded it would have been different. Because of this, I didn’t play for long.
Thank you so much for playing our game and for taking time to send us feedback.
It would be good to know what graphics card and browser you are using. We had some issues with performance, which hopefully will be addressed in the new patch coming in a couple of days. When it comes to full-screen closing, we will look into it. The game was always intended to be downloadable and the web version is more of a bonus that we added and need to make sure we can optimise controllers and performance for it better.
This is exactly the problem; we have noticed it before on rare occasions when GPU is not used, and then the game renders via motherboard GPU and struggles. We will need to find a fix for it.
Suggestions for ideas? I've got one or two that might be worth a spin.
First idea - beating a horror by solely giving it food it loves will gift you a new permanent recipe, one that will be useful or loved much more down the line. (I'm thinking maybe 2-3 areas ahead so it's not spammed/abused)
Second idea - Same as above, but the giant horror for each area not only gives you a permanent recipe, it also gives you a permanent piece of gear. The downisde is, you have to return back to the castle to equip it, instead of equipping it immediately.
Possible final idea - Horrors have a chance to recognise the princess, immmediately halting their progression and allowing you to fill them up and yourself.
thank you so much! we are working on changes and new content for the demo, hopefully it will be even more entertaining and give a idea how full game looks like
I had so much fun trying out this game! Deck builders are a challenge for me for sure, but once I started to get the hang of it, I found it so rewarding to get those combos and take out the first dungeon boss!
The music is so fun to listen to and I genuinely enjoyed figuring out what each enemy liked and disliked. It was an adventure and I'm looking forward to playing more and seeing where development of this game goes!
Thank you so much for trying it out. We really do appreciate it! We are already working on updates based on feedback we are getting so please keep it coming.
But most of all we are glad you had fun, as this is most important!

I am surprised it works on tablet! It not supposed to hahahah
Loved the demo . This is SUCH a unique and refreshing take on deck builder roguelike
I am excited for the future of this game
thank you
Played 15 minutes now I'm going to download the demo on Steam, I absolutely love it, such a unique idea!
Thank you so much!
Hey there! I'd like to translate your game into Turkish professionally if you're interested!!
Thank you. Until we reach early access, we don't have any money for outsourcing. We are a self-funded studio of 2.
Played the demo on Steam, and I really like the idea. Can't wait for the release!
Thank you!
This game has a very interesting idea.
thank you

Thank you for playing and for the feedback.
Adding Grendel's mother is a cool idea.
And dialogue lines for Princess, yes, definitely. Love this idea.
We are a team of two, tho, so it all takes time.

thank you, yes we are working on adding much more variety
Nice twist on the genre, but the curses so far are kinda lame. It would be better if they did a variety of effects and didn't just shut down a random kind of card from your deck.
thank you for playing and thank you for feedback we will look into it
Absolutely fantastic.
Thank you for playing, loving the playthrough...and noting all the feedback
cool game, i enjoyed it :)
It's satisfying to keep your craving combos going, the design and music is very cool, and im excited for a finished version! :D
Thank you so much
Made a video for my channel, I like it. It is not the usual "formula" for a deck builder game. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for playing and for making video out of it... shame for the buggane death :)
It was great to watch you play, it helps us learn what needs to happen next! Thank you for all the feedback
Anytime, just so you know my brother is making his own video which I'll post in a day or so. He doesn't make commentary but does give notes
amazing! let us know.
Here is the link to his gameplay

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, and use Firefox. However when I look at task manager, it doesn’t seem like the GPU is being used.
This is exactly the problem; we have noticed it before on rare occasions when GPU is not used, and then the game renders via motherboard GPU and struggles. We will need to find a fix for it.

A great discovery! I like the idea of cooking to feed your enemy! Cute pixel art and engaging music too.
Thank you so much :)
There is so much more to come soon.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, let me address them one by one
1. yes, we had lots of ideas around it.... but it is currently on the "nice to have list", so one day hopefully we will get there
2. This is kinda what artefacts are for... we just need to make sure with a storyline or quests to put emphasis on them
3. Could you elaborate on this? I'm not sure if I fully get it, but it sounds intriguing!
To explain the final point in more detail -
You completely defeat a horror by using food it loves.
Upon doing so, a little marker of some sort will appear in the bestiary on the horror's page.
When that mark appears, there is a chance (I'd say something like 1 in 5 or 1 in 4) that the horror will recognise the princess on an encounter.
When they do, they stop advancing and you can simply keep feeding them and yourself food until the encounter is over.
very interesting... I like it!
first, we doing massive changes to cards but down the line, we are thinking about mechanics like this, definitely going to the ideas pot :)
Fantastic to hear, and can't wait to see what else you come up with!
Can't wait until this game's full release! Brilliant demo!
thank you so much for your support
Wow! Nice work!
thank you!
I really like building up the combos, and the sprites are cute too!
Thank you so much for a kind words
I've given it a short playthrough and I have to say, the simple concept is both fun and entertaining.
It's definitely going to keep me coming back for more, and buying it here once it hits a full release.
thank you so much! we are working on changes and new content for the demo, hopefully it will be even more entertaining and give a idea how full game looks like
Awesome to hear. Can't wait!
Great game!
thank you
Looks pretty cool!
I hope you'll release it on GOG too.
Fun soundtrack :)
Yes, We are going to release it on GOG, but when we are ready with a full game

I'm so glad I was helpful!
